Starting college

College life kicked off very quickly with a welcome week which consisted of seminars on various topics like starting studies well, college community, theological reflection, placements, etc. There was also a number of social events throughout the week which really helped to kickstart the process of getting to know people who study at the college.

I have had now seven weeks of teaching. It has taken some time to get used to the schedule and pace of study here at Oak Hill but I am learning a lot and finding it stretching and enriching. I am thoroughly enjoying the modules I’m studying this semester, particularly, my elective module this semester on Pauline theology. It has been both thought provoking and encouraging as we have looked deeper at the Pauline theology as a subject and wrestled with different viewpoints on Paul’s theology throughout his letters and the issues that Paul addresses in his letter to the Galatians.

It has taken very little time to get to know my flat mates really well. Everyone is very down to earth and friendly and we all get on really well together. It has been really special and such an answer to prayer that friendships have been forming in the flat and its been an encouragement and blessing to us all that we have been able to meet and pray for one another once every week. Please pray that our friendships would continue to grow and that the harmony in the flat would continue.

Thank you for your continued prayers for me as I continue to settle and get involved in my placement church, Reality Church London. I have slowly been starting to get to know people in the congregation and the leadership. There have been a few people that I have been able to get to know reasonably well and connect with which has been such a blessing and help in getting to know more people and become a part of the church. I have been really blessed by the teaching every Sunday and I’m starting to feel at home which is already very encouraging! Please pray that this continues and that relationships continue to be built as I join the home group in my local area.

Thank you also for your continued prayer for my finances. There is so much to thank and praise God for in this area. The Lord has been so faithful in his provision and how he continues to meet my financial needs. I want to thank everyone who has supported me in this way and everyone who continue to support me both prayerfully and financially. It has truly been such a blessing and quite a humbling experience. Please also give thanks to God for his provision through the trusts that are supporting me this year
