Finishing at Grace Church
I've now handed in my notice, making my departure from the Grace Church staff team official. Our final Sunday will be 21 July. Here are a few ministry bits I've been looking at in the meantime:
After six years, I prepped my final GCM student bible study two weeks ago, ending our year-long journey through Luke's gospel.
I've been enjoying preparing sermons for a series on the doctrine of Christ we've been going through. The final sermon is next Sunday, where I'm looking forward to speaking on the Christian hope of seeing God.
Pete and I have finished meeting up individually with all six men in the church's leadership development group that I've been running, ascertaining what next steps are for each of them. We're hopeful GCM will be able to appoint 2-3 elders from this group in the autumn.
Pete and I have worked on how to resource the student and youth team. Wonderfully, both teams have recruited new members who are enthusiastic to serve.
I'm also seeking to get in pastoral meetings with key individuals before I leave, taking what few remaining opportunities I have to encourage them in Jesus.
